Long-distance move from Salt Lake City, UT to Davenport, FL

Run- STAY away if you care about your car

This has been the worst experience EVER- “vince “one of their drivers is a terrible person treat your car as shit - he wrecked mine during transport - was an expensive car and refused to fix it they way i wanted my vehicle to be fixed , he calls back swearing and cursing using “F” word . Very low class , and its ended up me fixing out pocket - very expensive car got wrecked.

Long-distance move from Florida to Massachusetts

Never, never,never again!!

One of the worst experiences I have ever had. They quoted one price, but after the truck was filled doubled the price! Would not return phone calls..never gave acurate estimates of either travel time or cost.  Underneath they just ran an awful business that has the consumer at bay.  NEVER use this company.  Not sure how they stay in business with the underhanded techniques of low balling and then jacking the price up. AWFUL. AWFUL. AWFUL..and left a mess and would not clean up after them!! A nightmare.

Long-distance move from Florida to Washington

Great move thanks.

United Transport did a super job moving me and my wife. They did great packing us up on pick up and I was really impressed by the way they packed and handled our old upright piano that was really dear to me. The move went without a hitch and my sales rep Chris was a really good hearted person I appreciate all his help taking the time to really talk to us and treat us like freinds and not just customers and that is very rare these days.

Long-distance move from Texas to Minnesota

So bad, we're taking legal action.

Their BINDING-NOT-TO-EXCEED promise is false.  We were given an estimate of 1232$  The movers they "bid out to" said they wouldn't move anything until we paid 3400$ cash.  After we settled for 1500$  They went out again and their "BINDING-NOT-TO-EXCEED" moved up to 2200$ (again, other driver/loaders that said they owned the company).  We had no choice but to pay that money.  They didn't take half the things that were contracted, and overcharged us for cubic footage not used.  Cliff, Jen, Shawn, Isaac, etc. then said they would go pick the rest of the stuff up for free.  Month later, no word.  Now they will not refund us the money or get the stuff that was left behind.  They will put your things in a public storage unit, and they hire out people to move your things.  This is not a moving company.  The people who delivered our things didn't even know UTI.  So now we are filing for all the things that were broke, and taking them to court. Never use this "Broker" to move your things.
I can submit photos and estimated binding contract if anyone doubts the above.

Service cost: $2200

Official company response

This client was given a quote but when we went to do the move there were alot more items. we gave a revised estimate and the declined declined service. Then the next day after the client could find no one else to move them and implored us to come back we did and preformed the move for $2200 as we agreed. The items that were left behind were particle wood and in bad shape and the client told us to leave them as we did and then the next day begged us to come get the items even though they probably would not survive the transport and we told them there would be an additional charge to get those items picked up at which point they refused to pay. Unfortunately we could not pick up the extra items for free especially since they are going from Texas to Minnesota which is a costly transport. We do strive to work out all problems with our clients.

Long-distance move from Florida to North Carolina

Should be shut down.

This company can be summed up in a few words, crooks, sleezy, and dishonest. I find it interesting that they could have so many negative posts and then only excellent posts beyond that, of course this is the owners/employees posting vague positive comments. Pay attention to the negative posts and consider yourself warned!!  I researched a few moving companies online and selected United Transport because they gave a resonable price (over the phone) and the representative was helpful. From that point on it was all down hill. They quoted me $3400 and that was after I gave a full listing of all items that were being moved. My wife and I had to move for my new job to NC and we had to move on the dates we gave them. They showed up 2 days late and started loading the truck. After they had loaded the truck close to half way up I was told that this move was going to cost more than what was previously estimated. They said they could unload what they started if I did not agree to the move costing more. I had to get my items moved though as we had renters moving into our home just couple of days later. With that being said it ended up being $6700!! Almost twice what was previously estmiated. When they were almost finished loading item they then told me as they were moving final items that some of my personal property that they were moving would probably break during the move. They then went on to charge me for 2100 cubic feet that they were moving when it was clearly marked in the truck at 1750 cubic feet. Not only that but they said that for thet cubic footage that was over what they originally quoted me they were chargin me a higher rate. Abviously not a company that understands the concept of economies of scale!! When my items were delivered, 2 days late again, there were multiple broken items from a $1000 desk to our piano. The cost for the broken/lost/stolen items was close to $4000. They then offered me $192 to cover what was broken. Then they never even paid up the $192. If I call they say they are still processing the payment in their accounting department. I don't think they could define the word accounting. With all of this being said, please do yourself a favor and DO NOT use this horrible excuse for a business.

Great Job United Transport.

I got a ton of moving quotes but the professionalism of the rep Matt won me over. He answered all my questions regarding the moving process and made me feel real comfortable using them and I am glad I did. The move went as planned and I can't complain about the price they were very fair. I had some extra things I wanted to take on move day that I didn't discuss with the rep and it was no big deal and the price was hardly effected. Thanks guys.

Unfortunate.

I've never received my things.  I never received paperwork upon pickup.  Guess I was the dummy.  My experience started out great with the salesman.  No one will call me, no one will help, and apparently no one knows where my things are.  Who brings their children with them when they are there to pickup your things?  I'm sure my review won't be posted. Although I was given a great price in the beginning the actuall movers claim I owe an additional 1700.00.  I'm just sick that I allowed myself to be taken that way.

Long-distance move from California to Hawaii

Great moving co!

Before I decided to go with this company UNITED TRANSPORTATION I think I called every company there is! I thought it was funny because almost every company that I called only talked trash about all the other company's especially the cheaper priced company's! The WORST company with the highest price was Premiervanlines and Neena is the most horriblest person to deal with she lies and that's is told to me by at least 15 people that had problems with her. Plus she was charging me 2 1/2 times more! I didn't know who to go with at first but what made decied to go with UNITED TRANSPORTATION was the man on the phone! RODGER REED, he spoke like he really cared and that he also really listened to whatI was saying not to mention that he really worked on getting me the best deal out there! I knew that I had a LOT of things and I was sure something would get broke and I was right but it wasn't that bad and when I called Rodger with in minutes he had set me up with the information I needed to file a claim. I don't know if he's a employee or if he's a owner but he really does good at his job! I have already referred 2 people to them and would definitely use them again.  They are not only the best price but they are thousands less then other places! No place can be perfect but this place comes pretty close! They even packed my big glass table top! They wrap all my furniture too! The claim is very easy as well just fill out the form and take photos and send them in and they take care of it!

Long-distance move from Florida to Illinois

Horrible - DO NOT USE.

This company is a dishonest and sleazy operation.  After they picked up the items they held them and demanded an ADDITIONAL cash (only) payment for another truck to deliver the stuff from "storage" to the apartment.  They lost items including two suitcases and five boxes.  They also damaged items. One missing piece of furniture (which was claimed to have been "lost") was broken by the movers and parts of the item where found in the dumpster.  Repeated phone calls were met with, at first, claims that everything would be taken care of, then by stonewalling, and finally by not taking our calls.  We received two "settlement" documents with specified amounts that they said they would pay.  They paid on one and denied that the other even existed.  Even the one that they paid was a ridiculously low sum for the damage incurred.  Neglegent, dishonest, incompetent, and skilled at giving you the run around - this is the worst company that we have ever encountered.  The only non-negative thing one can say is that United Transport Inc. is not an outright fraud, taking your money and providing no service.  They simply take your money, provide horrible service that leaves your move a shambles, and proceed to lie and delay in the hopes you go away.  A better option is to stay away in the first place.

Long-distance move from Florida to New York

Thieves.

I was also told by Jason that they match other estimates, 4 men are each job, 1 of the men is the foreman with more than 10 years of experience, and the other 3 men have 3 years of experience each.  5-7 days to get to the location once my things have been picked up, my things go on one truck and they aren't  loaded and unloaded. There would not be any sort of transfer unless the area that I am moving to doesn't allow moving truck and I called and that was not going to be a problem.  I gave the two address where my belongings would have to be picked up from location #1 and location #2.  I called Jason back and told him that I had other estimates that were a lot less, and he said to email them to him, I did.   On Monday, May 6, 2012 I was to meet the movers at the first location, everything was removed from the storage unit next was the second location (I said to Avi doesn't everything need to be close to one another in order to get the right cubic foot number?) He really didn't answer me.  Once everything was loaded in the truck the mover by the name of Avi told me that I had over 1000 cubic feet but he will just write down 900 cubic feet.  SO, my estimate went from $1730.03 to $2861.00.  I told Avi that was impossible, that the storage unit was not full and that all of my belongings were at one time in that storage unit and that held 400 cubic feet.  Avi told me that I had to call the main office and discuss it with them, that it was out of his control.  I felt like I had no say, they had everything that I owned on this truck.     I called the main office and Isaac the dispatch manager was the one that I was told to talk to.  He took all of the information over the phone, he said that he would inspect the truck once it came into the warehouse in south Florida. I told Isaac that I emailed estimates that were lower than the one that I got from them.  He said that he wants to make me happy and he has no problem adjusting the quote,  I was never told that the truck was going to south Florida when that was going in the opposite direction. Isaac never called me later that day, my phone calls were not returned, I had no idea where my things were, I continued to call and leave messages. Isaac finally answered the phone after multiple messages and he was nasty to me.  I asked to talk to his manager and he refused.  I called back and got someone else on the phone, and was transferred to Cliff. I was told that there was no way delivery was going to happen on the 11th, so it would happen once I got back from training. Friday, May 18th came and went, no delivery.Cliff wouldn't call me back, I get a call from mover, items will be there May 22nd.  Get home for the movers that already started to take stuff off the truck, different truck then I originally saw my things get loaded on.  The mover demanded cash, I told him that I needed a receipt, he said that he didn't have a receipt to give me. I told him that I was not going to give him cash without getting a receipt.  He tried to take my things out of my building and I told him to not touch anything. He looked like he was going to hit me, my super stepped in front of me, and the mover stormed off.  I called the police to report it, but they said there was nothing that they could do.  Called and emailed Cliff, told him I was not going to give some mover cash, he tried to get the mover to redeliver my things but he refused.  My father gave his credit card number over the phone to Cliff from United Transport and my things were to be delivered the very next day.  I was called the next day and was told the movers truck broke down.  I finally got a call from the mover at 9pm at night on May 25th, 2012.  He refused to do an inventory, I peeled all the orange stickers off the boxes and said that I am missing 11 boxes out of 96.  He didn't have any explanation, told me to call the main office.  He tried to get me to sign the contract that all my things were delivered and I refused.  I called and emailed Cliff immediately and no answer.  When he finally answered my call days later he said that he will try to locate my items.  Days went by and nothing.  He finally got around to emailing me some sort of claim, and I called this number that was on the back of the contract, there is no name of the company on it, just some strange voice mail. I left messages daily, not a returned call.  All of the things that were stolen from me were high ticket electronics, my wardrobe, my daughter's wardrobe, almost all of my shoes, and kitchen appliances, etc.  There were many items that came to me that were destroyed, damaged beyond repair(pictures included), and missing boxes. THIS COMPANY STOLE OVER $50,000 of my belongings from me.  Family airlooms and things that can't be replaced.  Didn't get one cent back from them..thieves!

Long-distance move from Texas to North Carolina

Unprofessional and Thieves.

First off, my estimated moving costs were $2800 from TX to NC. It ended up being $4700!?! This review is being written as events take place so that I don’t miss anything and can accurately detail the amount of nonsense that took place during my move. The driver was VERY rude, spent most of the time outside on his phone speaking very loudly. My attempts to even speak to him made me feel like I was bothering him. The driver left his bank balance receipt on my counter when he left which was a negative account balance; this was right after asking me to make my check out to Cash. My check was cashed within minutes of them leaving my house. They brought a rental Penski truck to load my furniture into. The 3 man crew that came with him were hard workers but totally unprepared. It was probably 100 degrees, I had some bottles of water for the guys but when it ran out they were still asking me for more. They did not have the proper tools to disassemble any of my furniture. Not even a pair of pliers. So they ended up using all of my tools which they did not return and I had to run out as they were leaving to retrieve them. They brought my washing machine downstairs and tipped it over on my wood floor! Water spilled all over my living room which no one even bothered to clean up, in fact they all walked through it and tracked it into my kitchen as well.   As they took my plastic shelves apart in the garage they kicked they and tossed them around. After they were done they just left, didn't even say anything. They also did not clean up anything. I had plastic bottles and cups all over my lawn and all through my house. There were empty tape rolls in every room on the floors and also scraps of plastic wrap all over in every room. I asked when I could expect my stuff at the new house and all I was told was "7 days". I was told I would be the only house loaded on the truck and it will take 7 days to go 920 miles. I was told they can do 400 miles per day, not 130. Right now I just hope that my stuff shows up at all. In closing, I did not feel comfortable using United Transport for my moving needs and I would definitely not use them again or even recommend them to a friend. *Update- Now that this nightmare of a move is basically complete, I can repost this review (above) and add the events that took place since I first posted it. The review was removed after several people at the company hinted that I wouldn’t get much assistance until I had done so. After my items were picked up on July 9th I relocated to NC and awaited delivery which I was told would be 7 days. On the following Monday I received a call that my items were still in storage in Dallas and would be picked up on that day to make their way to NC. Up until that point no one knew or would tell me where they were, they were unsure if my stuff was in transit or not. Tuesday the 17th a driver calls me to schedule a delivery for Wednesday (18th). He shows up in yet another Penski moving truck, this time an 18 wheeler. Much friendlier than the last guy, they unload my items in the heat. As they are finishing up, I notice that one of my most expensive items is missing. My 47” Samsung LED LCD Ultra Thin TV. They check the truck again and then tell me that it was not in the public storage unit that they picked up my items from. They call in to their company, which I have no idea who they worked for but was told they never picked the TV up so it is not their problem. I asked if they worked for United Transport and the driver responded with “Who?”  I had the United Transport website up on my laptop, the driver looked at it and then told me he had never heard of them. He got a piece of paper that said pick my stuff up there and drop it off here.  At this point we look at my inventory sheet, I notice the sheet goes up to 160 but the last sticker was 172. I also see that my 32” TV was not listed on the form. My 47” TV was listed and had a sticker number of 40 so I go over and look at my 32” TV and sure enough it had number 40 in it. Basically they put the sticker that was supposed to go on my 47” TV on the 32” TV which is not recorded on the inventory and with a little magic, someone other than me ends up with a nice widescreen TV. I had read about this happening to a few other people before my move was worried that it would also happen to me, I guess I was right. The pick up driver did not allow me to review the inventory before leaving, he shoved it in my face while holding the papers and told me to sign and then immediately walked out the door. I immediately called United Transport to tell them about my TV, their initial response was that I had 1 TV on my inventory sheet and received 1 TV back, regardless of the size difference. Refusing to accept this as an answer I told them my inventory said I had a 47” TV and I did not receive one. Finally I worked my way up to the owner who told me they would look into it. This was a few days after the debate about removing my review from mymovingreviews.com was settled by me doing exactly that. Also it is very hard to get hold of someone at UT when you need to. After a few more days of waiting, Cliff who is the owner/manager called me back to say they could not locate my TV. Through their claim process I would get $.60/pound which a TV like that would get me about $20, he said they were willing to pay me for the item to help me out. I paid $1800 for this TV in Feb of 2009 and now they go about $1000 which I relayed to Cliff, he said they wouldn’t be able to give me that much but would find out what their offer would be and call me back in a day. 2 days later I called back in, spoke to someone else that told me to fill out a claims form and mail it in. While all of this was taking place I also noticed several other items were missing. (3) 2’x3’ glass tops for my desks never made it. My washing machine looked like someone took a sledgehammer to the top of it, there was a huge dent in the metal and the lid was bent in the middle. Several glasses and a crystal bowl were shattered, including my Guinness pint glasses! The boxes were torn open, some were crushed, and even some of my plastic bins were crushed. As I hooked up the Wii for my kids I noticed the box was tore open along the bottom and a Wii remote and TV remote was missing. I filled out the claims form for the first set of missing items and mailed it in, meanwhile I notice that a small window AC unit that I had also didn’t make the trip. Also as I am preparing for a camping trip this coming weekend and go to look for my large gray cooler that had some of my camping equipment inside of it, I notice that it is nowhere to be found as well. Also my wifes sewing machine never made it to NC. Now I have another claims form to fill out. So after filling out and submitting my 3rd claims form and mailing it in, a week later I was notified that I am only able to submit 1 form and that I would have to redo all 3 onto 1 and mail it back in again. I said forget it, take the first form with the TV and get on with it. Another day passes and they tell me they combined my forms into one and will be processing it which could take up to 2 months?!? Now 2 months later I continue this review, still no money and no update from UT. This is extremely bad business; I would not trust these guys to deliver a pizza at this point.  I have sent 2 emails in the past month for an update on my claim and have not received a reply. I am now consulting with an attorney and about to fill out a BBB complaint against UT. I now received my claims form from UT with the total amount they are willing to give me for the loss of all of the above items. It came out to a whole $148. Completely and totally unbelievable. I am now in the process of contacting my attorney again and filing a complaint with the BBB. I will post any updates in the comment section if possible so that I may get the word out on how shady and poorly run this company is. Please DO NOT use this company and avoid a massive headache and potentially being ripped off. Another month later and I received my UPDATED claims form, they added $100. So now a grand total of $248 for all of my missing items including my $1800 TV that was stolen during the move. Now is it time to involve my attorney and the BBB. I am done dealing directly with this incompetent company.

Sorry for the wall of text, this form keeps removing my formating,.

Long-distance move from Florida to California

Please DONT GO WITH United Transport, The Stole our Big TV and IMac.

Hello All,Please BEWARE of Movers called "United Transports" & "Moving Services". We moved recently from Florida to California and UNFORTUNATELY used this movers called "United Transporters" & The send us someone called "Moving Services". They clearly stole our 46Inch LED Samsung TV and our iMac. Which was the most expensive in the list of things we moved. It was very clear that it is stolen by someone from the movers and no doubt about it, because when the shipping came, they put a small 21inch emerson TV with the same sticker they stick on our big TV when they picked it up. So it is clear that it is intentional. We clearly have doubt on the Driver and some of the team who came to pick it up, the main guy was very rude. MOST IMPORTANT: After all this incident when we called the office, they told me to file for claim. Also they told us not to call them anymore, and they will contact if they hear about anything. And we are waiting for 2 weeks now and they never called us back. When I called, they hung on us and they purposefully not picking-up the call after that. Again next day when they picked-up they said they will call back and just hung up again. This rude response from the office was triggered us go and tell everyone, we are one of the many silent victims of United Transporters Fraud. We are sharing this hear, just because we don't want anyone else to fall in this TRAP of United Transports.

Above all these, they had doubled our charges after packing and putting everything into the Truck. These people are hopeless and never go with either of them United Transports or Moving services.

Hope this helps many.

Long-distance move from Texas to Florida

My moving experience.

I can't believe that they offered me 84.00 for total of missing items. All items missing from delivery were electronics.   I was missing a brand new cannon printer.  key board and mouse.  a sony HD DVD player, and two Dish receivers, which I was charged 50$ a piecefrom dish network. Someone got a new system.  Not to  mention lots of valuables had been broken.  Give me a break.  Not to mentioned they showed up 3 days late, costing me 400.00 for a trip I had to call in for.  I definitely do not reccommend them.  Im sure this will be a big fight, but I intend to report them to every institution possible to prevent this from happening to someone else.

Great Move.

We recently used United Transportation Moving and Storage to move 30 miles from our apartment to our new home. During our search for a quality moving company we bid 3 groups one of which we had used previously, Ben Hur. We liked Ben Hur when we used them and felt comfortable with their name recognition but the customer service, attentiveness and persistence shown by Stephanie at United was a welcome difference from the generic representatives at other companies.
The movers they sent were great; very careful with our things and they had great customer service and general people skills. In particular we noticed what a great attitude the movers had despite the hard work they were faced with. Any moving company can send a few strong guys to lift your things but for us United really distinguished themselves by having really great and genuinely nice people to interact with.
Our move was particularly tough since they had to lug heavy furniture and boxes down a very difficult stairway and then over to their truck which they could not park right next to the building due to access issues. No complaints the whole time, very accomodative and always with good smiles. I will remember these movers and their names, which I could not say for other moving companies I have used in the past. Without a doubt we would not hesitate to use United Transportation Moving and Storage in the future.

Long-distance move from Texas to Florida

Sleazy Operation.

United Transport, Inc. is a sleazy operation run from a suburban North Miami shopping center by hoodlums. I discovered this when my furnishings were delivered by some immigrant laborers late at night (there was the first clue, not counting the bogus additional up-front charges for “additional cubic feet”). Upon arrival at my new home, they would not unload unless I signed paperwork stating that all of my furnishings were delivered-BEFORE THEY WERE TAKEN OFF OF THEIR TRUCK. Forced to do so, I then watched as their “contractor”, who called himself “Shawn” threw boxes of china in my house, dumped the furniture, broke a table and finally said that my $ 2, 200. Carpet was coming on the next truck in a day or so. When questioned about my carpet, the hoodlums at their “office” laughed and said they would send me a picture of it, but refused to deliver it.  These criminals learned how to work the system in this country and will cause you a great deal of grief if you use them. Be smart and use a nationally recognized moving company. The costs may look higher, but in the end, you will pay less and best of all, have peace of mind.      .

Thanks United Transport Inc!!

Being of a military backround I have moved alot! United Transport Inc is one of if not the best companies I have used and this is move number 13 or 14 starting to lose track. They were on time, professional and the value I got for my money was great. They picked up my goods, stored them at my request for a month and delivered everything within the timeline I needed at the price quoted. I can appreciate a job well done so thanks a million guys and this review is my tribute to your excellent service .

Job Well Done.

I had to relocate because of a job and I was getting blown up by moving companies, I got a call from Chris at united transport inc and we went through what I did with the other ten companies that called me. I liked the way he presented himself and felt like I would take a shot with his company since they were in great standings on the BBB. I was pleased with my choice and said that I would write a review if everything went well. It was a great experience, I will let family and friends know about this company. Thanks Chis.

Long-distance move from Florida to Georgia

United Transport in Florida.

Overages increased the cost,at 3 times the originial quote for cubic feet. 2 movers came, one was intimadating, rude, and disrespectful, he was loud and ended up throwing paperwork and clip board on floor. He would not pack all the things which had to be left behind, we were told we would be reimbursed 170.00 for those things. We did not get it in writing so later on that was not the case. Our things went to storage,as we did not have a new address. We were given a price for a MI move and one for GA. Even though we ended up in GA they charged us the price for the MI move. When they delivered, there were 14 boxes missing and the footboard to a new bed that was only 4 months old. Making the frame and headboard useless. All things came in dirty with what appeared to be sawdust on them, Many boxes and totes were broken and crushed. The dishes and glasses were broken. A highboy desk was broken in half and is unfixable. Upon delivery the nice 2 movers brought in bar stools and a table that was not ours.
Upon entering the truck we found one of our boxes mixed in with someone elses load. Office help was nice, but this is a very dishonest company, just run the other way!!

We moved from Florida to Utah. The loading date was 8/30/12 and the delivery date was 9/17/12. Less than a year prior we had moved to Florida using 1160 cubic square feet. When we obtained a quote from United Transport for this move we had since reduced our household goods by a couch, bed, and desk but to be safe we obtained a quote from United Transport for 1200 cubic feet as we didn't want any surprises. The truck was loaded and the movers told us that they had used nearly double the estimated space by using 2075 cubic feet. This did not make any sense but we did not have a tape measure and the movers didn't have time for us to go buy one. We could not unload the truck and find someone else the same day; as a result we had no choice but to sign the document although we could not make any sense of it. We just had to take their word for it. We did contact United Transport that day and talked to their customer service manager. Unfortunately, there was no way to prove our situation at that point. And so we were forced to wait for our goods to arrive to verify the measurements. When the truck arrived the Driver told us that we definitely had not used 2075 cubic feet on his truck but it was not his place to get involved and we respected his situation. Fortunately, we were able to take pictures and video to confirm the actual space used on the truck. The roof of the truck inside posted the measurements. The truck measured 10.5 feet height and 8.5 feet width. The length used by our items was measured to be 13.6 feet. This was verified by several witnesses as well as the Driver and Movers. Inside the truck our items occupied space from the 1200 line to the 2200 line (left side of the truck) as seen in the video. This corresponded to the 1900 to 2900 lines (right side of the truck)and we have photos to confirm this. These measurements verify the total space we occupied on the truck as 1213.80 cubic feet. At this point, we contacted United Transport and asked what they wanted us to do to confirm it to them while the truck was still on site. We were told that both managers were not in that day and they did not know what to do. They said to take pictures to verify the measurements which we did and have sent them to United Transport. They have not responded or acknowledged our emails or phone calls. Every time I contact them they tell me to leave my number and the manager will call me but he never does. This has happened 5 times. He has been out of the country, off on holiday, and frankly unreachable. At this point they have over charged me for thousands of dollars and have done nothing to rectify the situation. Their phone lines are down once or twice a week and their website is down weekly as well. Don't use this company! There are other moving companies who are honest and reputable - use them instead!
Other issues: 1.  I was told they would weigh my truck but on the day of the move this changed and they decided to go by square feet 2.  I was told they would not move my goods to another truck but this also changed to my surprise on the day of the move.

Long-distance move from Washington to Florida

Terrible.

TERRIBLE is all I can say.  Showed up 3 days late and never kept in contact with me.  Jacked the price up when they showed up at the LAST minute - like I had a choice at that time since THEY were the ones they were late.  When boxes were delivered I am missing boxes, missing tool box, and broken and damaged goods.  Boxes had water damage and a lot of items were broken.  I have been trying to work with the claims department in a professional manner and all they do is put me on hold, cut me off and now feed me a story there is noone in the claims dapartment. .

Long-distance move from Florida to Massachusetts

Great service at fair price.

I originally contracted with another moving company that I found online. They gave me a great price but came a day late to pick me up and tried to double the price on me once they arrived. I was panicked but refused to give in and canceled my move with them. So then I started a frantic search and thank God I was able to find United Transport. Sherry the rep gave me a great quote and made me feel comfortable. They came the next day as promised and did a great job and there were no suprises in price or otherwise. Delivery was smooth , on time and no damages. Thanks United Transport.

Long-distance move from Florida to California

STAY AWAY !! HORRIBLE SERVICE. USELESS bunch of people.

Never again will I use United Transport Inc. To whomever reads this review, do yourself a favor and look elsewhere. With so many complains and bad reviews online, don't even bother with these fools. My move was from Florida to California. As many other reviewers has stated, I was victim of the price increase when they came to pick up my furniture. Of course, I had my suspicions when I read these reviews thinking maybe the customer didn't communicate all their items. However, I specifically listed EVERY ITEM to the sales rep and even provided EXACT DIMENSIONS.  However, they increased my price from $1350 to $1750 ??  Good total BS. Here comes the fun part. When the driver arrived in California, he refused to deliver to my door. Why? Because he felt it was unsafe to drive into San Francisco. Now, I agree if it was being delivered into the city but I was right off the freeway with HUGE roads and plenty of room. I even drove the route myself and recorded the entire drive. But nope, they would NOT cooperate at all and I ended up spending $150 on a U-Haul to pick up my own furniture 40 minutes away from my apartment. Oh, of course I had to move all my furniture into my apartment myself.  But wait! How can a crappy delivery not end with missing or broken items? United Transport is here to deliver that too! .. Yep. They lost my $1900 memory foam mattress, damaged my $3000 computer desktop, and busted up my $600 weber grill.  Oh, but their adjustor offered to settle my claim for a grand total of $130.  Seriously? $130 doesn't even cover my own U-Haul expense to pick up my own furniture !! What a freaking joke.   Again, STAY AWAY FROM UNITED TRANSPORT INC.  BAD NEWS written all over.  I have no idea how they are rated A- on BBB. They have so many complaints on there as well as with DOT.    STAY AWAY!

Long-distance move from Florida to New Jersey

Great Experience!!

I selected United Transport to do my move from Orlando, FL to Basking Ridge, NJ. They were professional when speaking to me and went into details (such as if my condo association allowed semis into the complex) that the other companies I got quotes from did not. They gave me an initial price of $3946.00. When the movers came, they wrapped my furniture on such a professional level. Some items needed special wrapping that I couldn't do myself and some addition items that I forgotten to mention had to be added which brought price up by $216 to a total of $4162. The additional cost was justifiable and I am extremely satisfied that all my items were delivered in perfect condition. Delivery was prompt and unloading went as smooth as loading. I would highly recommend United Transport! Excellent customer service, extremely professional salesmen, all around great company!

Long-distance move from Tennessee to Illinois

Do Not Use This Company!!

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!  They damaged a door to my apartment complex and, after months of back-and-forth, they rejected my claim for only $395. The damage was caught on video - I contacted them immediately with my concern, provided them with the date, exact time, and location of the damage, and sent them the repair quote within two days, but their customer service was so non-responsive, that I didn't hear back from them for 32 days.  The video cycles every 30 days, so the incident was taped over. Three months later I received a rejection letter stating that witout video evidence, they can not pay my claim. I have found the customer service to be terrible.  It has been like pulling teeth to even get ahold of someone to speak with. I strongly suggest you look elsewhere for your moving needs.

Terrible Customer Service!!

TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVIE!!
IRONIC!  I find it extremely ironic how, after I write an honest, negative review of my experience with this company on multiple websites, that positive reviews are listed above it almost immediately.  Read those reviews and decide for yourself if they look legitimate.
This company has terrible customer service.  They were not clear with my move on the amount of cash that had to be paid ahead of time.  They were very difficult to deal with when I tried to pay with a money order instead of a cashiers check - a misunderstanding on my part apparently - to the point where the manager was yelling and screaming at me over the phone.
On top of that, they refused to pay for damages that their movers caused.
I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND YOU LOOK ELSEWHERE FOR YOUR MOVING NEEDS!!
